(Le Corbusier) PRIVATE RESIDENCE, CHELSEA, NYC The New York City loft scene ... A 2,200 net sq. ft. loft (in an almost perfect 50 x 50 feet square), organized in two interlocking "Ls" reflecting private (bedrooms / bathrooms / study / laundry) and public spaces (living room / dining area / den / open kitchen). A sort of Yin & Yang design concept. Space, Light, Nature's presence, Peace and Harmony... Chelsea / Manhattan PRIVATE HOUSE, QUEENS Interior Design as an integral part of transforming an old house... An existing "bungalow" built in 1922... The outside porch was enclosed, and all unnecessary non load-bearing partitions were removed to open up the main floor (about 800 sq. ft. footprint), providing transparency and enabling natural light to come from all sides. "A loft feeling in the suburbs"... Hillcrest / Queens STUDIO APARTMENT, GRAMERCY PARK AREA A large studio with sleeping alcove (600 sq. ft.) facing East. For a young childless couple loving NYC but with a low budget, priorities were clear: daring and unusual... A small indoor garden, a huge 6 x 20 ft mural (an aerial b/w photo of Manhattan), black enamel painted platforms with high density foam seats covered with Gucci design fabric, music surround system... A great place for parties... East 25th Street / Manhattan STUDIO APARTMENT, UNITED NATIONS AREA A comfortable studio (330 sq. ft.) in a landmark building with view of the East River, facing South. For a corporate professional traveling a lot: clean lines, maximum use of available floor space with no Murphy bed (!), ample and smart efficient storage / closet space, state of the art kitchen appliances, great care for details, good Feng Shui, and more... A haven of peace in bustling Midtown...
